Why Ukraine was the best

May 18, 2009

Is anyone else disappointed that Ukraine didn’t get enough attention in this years Eurovision? I just can’t believe how this song didn’t win. This performance had everything you have come to expect from a Eurovision entry over the years. Here is a list of why Ukraine was the best act this year:

Ridiculous lyrics– Be my Valentine… You are sexy bum,
anti crisis bum… I’m your Anti crisis girl…

Singing in English

Unnecessary props

Basically an Erotica Performance

Roman Legions Dancers!!!

The singer at one point actually sat down to play the drums

Sh*tloads of fireworks

What did Norway have? A fiddle and a fairytale.

New old videoclip

May 12, 2009

I saw it quite a while ago, and liked it. I know it has nothing to do with advertising, but I don’t care! :p

December 18, 2008

Apparently this was on flash on the beach, but I was not allowed to go due to DLKW company policies, so i only discovered it now. It is great, even I managed to create some sounds that did not make me gag my coffee when played back to me (which is usually the case when any sound I made is played back to me). Other than that it can be described as the following:

“Hobnox is an on-line entertainment and publishing platform, a network for curatives and their fans. We unite broadcast-quality web media with cutting edge community-enabling technology. With Hobnox, an international media corporation is born. Created for artist by artists, Hobnox combines the best of current web entertainment with the newest technological possibilities of the Internet to create fascinating opportunities for both artists and audiences.”

(its way more fun than what that phrase makes it sound like).

Linky to the music maker thingy.

Linky to a page where you can read more about it and watch some videos.

You got to love IKEA!

November 11, 2008

This is amazing! All the movement is controlled by the track you play, you can play the tracks that are already there or upload your own music. I uploaded ‘Acceptable in the eighties’ made my day!

The campaign is by Forsman & Bodenfors and production company Koko Kaka

Yours, having fun in sunny Norway

July 9, 2008 is a website that allows you to create “mixed tapes”, uploading up to 12 of your favorite mp3 files.

This mixed tape concept remembers me Rob Gordon (High Fidelity), who used to record personalized tapes to his girlfriends (and potential dates).

It’s amazing how fast technology is moving. Eight years ago we were recording mixed tapes, now we are seeing CDs being replaced by iPods…

Tired of urban Show-reel music? I am.

July 4, 2008

Nice show-reel by Rodrigo Riedel. It is set to the La Valse d’Amélie by Yann Tiersen which i find very refreshing being used to see all the show-reels set to drum and base or some urban techno track with loads of jump cuts and tv interfarance effects.

Japanese Construction Board

June 25, 2008

So the Japanese construction board wants a website done..  – Yawn! I bet they just want a powerpoint presentation adapted for online use. – I guess it has to be just as accessible like dope in Amsterdam! – I hear istock photos has some new shots of multi ethcicity construction workers.

– Fuck this guys! Lets make a video of construction noises making up a grooving beat and get some photo collage graphics on the go. – Yeah we’ll have a house where all the members of the board can live, and a city where people can upload music created on the theme of construction. And well make the entire website in flash, animate all the graphics, lets go oldschool and have an intro video and a massive preloader.

But that is apperantly what happened.
Judge for yourself.

Yours, baffled.

James Houston

June 24, 2008

I went to the D&AD Newblood looking at digital designers. I was’nt impressed. It seems that in graphic design and illustration they have been learning a lot and there is some great talent out there. However it seems the digital courses are struggelig a bit in finding good tutors since there aren’t that many washed up digital designers. The result is that the young digital dersigners have more to learn when joining an agency.

But this entry in to the Radiohead competition by James Houston is a real gem. James Houston makes videos and I am certain his video of old computer harware preforming Radioheads ‘Nude’ will get him a pretty sweet job somwhere if that is what he wants.
